Introduction
The following is a brief overview as to what our company is all about, how membership works, and our Value Proposition.
We bring you no costly and complex franchise relationships. Rather, we offer:

- Unparallel and personal support on all aspects of your business from the SIMG staff and affiliated insurance providers.
Company Description
SIMG is a distinctive insurance agency and marketing enterprise designed to be a member driven cluster organization. Members are able to access products, carriers and related support services not ordinarily and individually available to them due to agency size, location or volume limitations. We are a “virtual” company with no brick and mortar.
SIMG members are able to effectively compete with direct-marketed larger insurance companies through “name brand” and specialty insurance carriers. This is especially the case in regions that are served by other more established larger agencies or low- cost direct writers who drive customers to their portfolio through the internet, in-bound and outbound telemarketing, and radio or TV advertising.
Typical SIMG members include:
- Experienced individuals who wish to “Start-up” their own agencies and are seeking markets for the first time;
- Agents who are located in out-state or rural locations with limited volume capabilities ruling out direct carrier contracts;
- Small shops with limited internal support capabilities;
- Agencies wishing to expand the number of companies they have available to their clients; and
- Agencies that have little or no experience or success with carrier acquisition
We are able to provide extensive support services to experienced Life agents; P&C agencies who wish to expand income through life sales; and agencies who are unfamiliar with estate planning and life options but wish to derive related referral income.
Our objective is to provide member agencies a “one-stop” internet based business portal enabling them to access: high quality and competitive insurance carriers; valuable information enabling them to effectively compete in their marketplace; and cutting edge new product and opportunity ideas.
Membership
SIMG membership consists of those individuals or agencies who agree to terms and conditions as outlined in our Producer and Commission Agreement. Agent must provide us with continuing appropriate licenses and E&O evidence.
Membership consists of an initial and annual renewal membership fee, currently $200 per year. We waive membership new and renewal fees from time to time through special achievement incentives or certain other membership promotions.
It is significant to note that unlike other agency clusters or franchise operations, SIMG affiliated agencies:
- Own their own customer portfolios with full renewal rights and subsequent carrier placement options, unless abandoned or for agent defalcation;
- Are appointed directly with SIMG participating companies;
- Entirely drive their own quoting, policy issue and billing activities with appointing companies;
- Are free to use other outside carriers or providers without limitation, oversight, permission, or otherwise any SIMG involvement;
- Do not have individual premium volume requirements;
- Have full support for specialty products and services through SIMG sponsored carriers and other affiliated providers; and
- Are able to access any SIMG owner at any time for consultation and direction.
New members are required to provide return of a simple “Producer Questionnaire,” copies of licenses and E&O evidence, and W-9 to enable us to generate our membership kit. Our kit consists of Producer Agreements (subject to modification or updating from time to time), Carrier and Product Summary, and any appointment paperwork initially requested. Members are usually contacted by our Life support group within 5 days of membership for a brief but personal overview.
All carrier bulletins and webinars are available to agents along with our regularly produced entertaining and informative newsletter.
Value Proposition
Value we provide our member agents and agencies include:
- Wide variety of high quality insurance carriers;
- Ease of appointments and company access;
- No volume requirements;
- Agencies maintain full ownership over clients and their renewal rights in all cases except abandonment or defalcation;
- Agency may use SIMG sponsored companies, companies outside the SIMG system or any mix that is deemed appropriate for the agency and their clients;
- Associated carriers conduct business entirely through the internet in a paperless environment;
- Full free agency management system for life agents tracking their prospects and clients; and
- Full Life Insurance support services from MyConcierge referral systems to full client portfolio recommendations, quoting, policy issue and related client services.
Carrier and Product Summary
Carrier and Product Summary is subject to change, as SIMG total system volume; product and carrier needs change from time to time.
Carriers are selected based upon:
- Their willingness to extend “no volume requirements” to member agencies for individual appointment;
- Uniqueness regarding their business model and the niche into which they wish to market and how that niche relates to our other existing markets;
- Willingness to accept and embrace our business model;
- Quality and availability of their field support services;
- Quality of products and client support services;
- Innovation; and
- Historic and present financial strength and business integrity;
Owner Resumes
Gary A. Arneson, Executive Vice President Property & Casualty of SIMG, has worked in the Property & Casualty industry over 30 years, 26+ years on the company side with various carriers. From 1976-2002 Gary held positions from underwriter to Vice President in underwriting and sales. Since 2003, Gary and his wife have been on the agency side, owning an independent agency, and now managing one in West Des Moines, Iowa. Gary also holds the CPCU designation.
Robert L. Austin, President of SIMG has worked in Property & Casualty Insurance for over 40 years. From 1967-1996 Bob had positions in Marketing, Pricing and Product Development with various insurance companies. Since 1997, Bob has owned and operated SPA Consulting with contracts for Insurance Marketing, Pricing and Product Development; marketed MGA programs to agents and consulting contracts to develop Business Plans for non-insurance business owners.
Connie N. Fingerhut, Owner of SIMG, started in the insurance business in 1988. She worked in an agency on the accounting side until 1990 when she became a licensed producer. After obtaining her Producer's License, Connie has been involved with the day to day operations of running an agency. On October 1, 2004, along with 2 partners, she opened FLS Insurance Agency LLC in Columbia, IL which offers most insurance products to meet the needs of the FLS insureds.
William B. Lantrip, Executive Vice President Life/Health of SIMG has worked as a sales representative of Life and Health Insurance for nearly 20 years. From 1990-1995, Bill had a position in Sales for Acordia Senior/Personal Benefits. Since 1995, Bill has been a partner at Diversified Insurance Brokerage Group, Inc., a Life and Health firm located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Vicki M. Lawrence, Treasurer of SIMG was Office Manager for 14 years with a Canadian based company. She started her insurance career in 1995. Vicki has an Illinois producer license for Property, Casualty, Health, Long Term Care and Life Insurance. In 2001 Vicki received the Certified Insurance Service Representative designation. Vicki is co-owner of FLS Insurance Agency in Columbia, Illinois, a successful full-line agency that she started in 2004 with her partners, Connie Fingerhut and Joseph Swierczek.
Joseph A. Swierczek, Owner of SIMG, obtained his producers license in 1989 and worked as a P & C producer for an independent agency for 1 year. After that he owned and managed his own insurance agency, Swierczek Insurance Agency, writing business for Farmers Insurance Group of Companies from 1990 to 1996. In 1996, he joined an independent agency as a producer and was with them until 2004. In 2004 along with 2 partners, he opened FLS Insurance Agency LLC in Columbia, IL. FLS is a full service, multi-lines agency.
John J. Walker, Corporate Secretary, Executive Vice President Marketing and Technology for SIMG has been in the insurance business for over 35 years. He directed the operations of several national financial institutions' insurance programs, served as director of insurance operations and marketing for several high profile companies, and was CEO of a major Midwest MGA.
